Uzbekistan and the UAE will continue to develop cooperation in the field of energy and investment

The issues of building partnership in these areas were raised during the meeting of Jamshid Khodjaev with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev received the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suheil Mohammed al-Mazrui on August 29, the press service of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the country reported.

Issues of further development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics, agriculture, traditional and alternative energy, as well as tourism were discussed.

The parties highly appreciated the achieved level of partnership in a number of areas, especially in the field of investment. Currently, the joint investment portfolio includes 17 projects worth $3 billion, and the joint Uzbek-Emirates Investment Company with an announced capital of $1 billion also continues to operate.

The issues of implementation of projects for the privatization of new and already functioning power units based on the Talimarjan TPP by companies from the UAE were also considered.

The parties expressed their readiness to continue further fruitful meetings to further strengthen the Uzbek-Emirati economic cooperation.
